Mark Mikita's father served in the U.S Army during World War II, taking part in the massive amphibious operation that marked General Douglas MacArthur's promised return to the Philippines on the 20th of October, 1944. Led into the jungle by barefoot Filipino freedom fighters often armed only with crude bolos (machetes) and their indomitable spirit, he would forever speak of them with great reverence.
After a lifetime of dedicated study and practice under the direct tutelage of multiple teachers, many of whom were former guerrillas, Mark is internationally recognized as a consummate martial artist. Often tapped by film studios to help their stars get the edge they need to convincingly portray a soldier, assassin, or covert operative, Mark has trained Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro, Dolph Lundgren, Stephen Amell, and the late Tom Sizemore, among many others. Starring opposite Mark in Assassin's Game, Tom Sizemore strongly encouraged Mark to narrow his focus in the industry to working in front of camera. Graciously telling Mark he had too much to offer to continue staying behind it.
